thumpa thumpa thumpa

Now, say that 140 times a minute and you've got....

My kid's heartbeat! 8) That's right... Linda is 7 weeks pregnant! Finally, my plan to take over the world through genetic abundance has begun. :)

This past week has been an emotional rollercoaster for us. As some may know we had a "missed" pregnancy in September at around 4 weeks and it took a little time to recouperate from that. While 7 weeks is far from the 12 week "this looks safe" period, it's enough for us to start getting excited about it! So hopes and prayers for a successful trimester are greatly appreciated, if not outright encouraged.

Without further ado, let me present to the blogging world my lentil bean:

It's amazing that something so... small has a heart, and the heart is beating, and beating loudly and clearly enough that we could hear it.

...music to my ears.

I am so totally ecstatic for you both! Let me know if you need any parenting tips... (Or tips on what to expect from a pregnant woman.) :)

As your little bean grows bigger, I highly, HIGHLY, reccomend that you find her a massuese that knows prenatal massage, and treat her to one (once a month if you can do it, or at least once before and once after). It SO helps (and feels great) the later along you get! I was lucky enough to get one each month of the pregnancy, and one right after the birth (it really helps with the swelling after the wee one is out!)

But then, I'm sure you'll be getting a TON of advice, eh?

Congratulations again!

Thank you! And all advice is most definitely appreciated. The only bad advice is the advice you don't consider. 8)

We have a spa near us with something called a "pregnancy massage" which Linda has been looking into. We are asking for spa gift certificates for her b-day in March, as she likes to head over once every other month. I'm glad she will still be able to get some relaxing treatments while carrying.

Woohoo! 8)

Bud, Nora and I offer our most hearty congratulations. We love you both and know that you will be wonderful parents. Being parents is the most wonderful and most difficult job one can undertake. Your life changes in so many ways, some of them tough, some of them smelly, but all of them joyful. Time itself takes on a whole new meaning as you measure your days in the changes you see in your child. We wish you and Linda many blessings during this time of wonder. We love you both!!

R&N,

What a wonderful and loving message! And it comes from two people that I consider to be models of caring and loving parents. Your joy and enthusiasm has definitely been an inspiration for this father-to-be.

We love you both, too!
